Day 1: Delhi

Welcome by our representative at the airport upon arrival. Drive to hotel and check-in to hotel. Go for a sightseeing tour of the city. Visit the famous Laxminarayan Temple, commonly known as Birla Mandir. Go to India Gate next, The 42 metre-high archway is a war memorial. You would see the Parliament House, the temple of Indian democracy. Lotus Temple, also known as the Bahai House of Worship is a must-visit. Move to Qutub Minar, which is the second-tallest minar in India. You would be taken for another tour of the city in the afternoon. Visit the Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in India. Visit the Red Fort next. This massive red sandstone fort was the residence of Mughal emperors, for almost. Then visit Jama Masjid one of the biggest mosque and have walking tour in to Chandni chock Market. Return to the hotel overnight and stay overnight.

Day 2: Delhi-Mandawa

This Morning after breakfast drive for Mandawa, a small town in Rajasthan, known for its 18th century fort. Visit the Mandawa Fort, built as per a medieval theme by Nawal Singh, the first direct descendant of the Shekhawati rulers. Check into the hotel. Our guide would take you to Shekhawati, the historical region known for its colourful havelis from the 18th & 19th centuries. Having the largest concentration of frescos in the entire world. You can go buy handicrafts as souvenirs from the bazar. Return to the hotel and stay overnight.

Day 3: Mandawa-Bikaner

Having witnessed the beauty of Mandawa, proceed to Bikaner. Visit one of IndiaÔÇÖs biggest religious wonders, the Karni Mata Temple that is home to approximately 20,000 revered rats! Proceed to the National Research Centre on Camel, the largest camel farm in Asia! You could have a camel ride or try some camel milk/ yogurt! Visit the massive, 20th century Junagarh Fort next. It is studded with palaces, temples and pavilions. Move to the Lalgarh Palace and Museum that has been built as per Rajput, Mughal and European styles of architecture. Your evening would be free for shopping. Return to the hotel for the night.

Day 4: Bikaner-Khichan-Jaisalmer

Leave for Jaisalmer, “The Golden City”, in the morning. This city, located in the heart of the Thar (Think about sand dunes and camels!), has several historic & artistic monuments. On your way, visit Khichan. This village has achieved international recognition for hosting over 20,000 cranes from August to March every year! Check into the hotel upon reaching Jaisalmer. Finally, witness a beautiful sunset at Bada Bagh, a garden complex so picturesque that it has been featured in several Bollywood movies! Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 5: Jaisalmer - Khuri

Post a relaxed breakfast in the morning, leave for a full-day of sightseeing. Start with the Jaisalmer Fort, which was constructed in 1156 AD by Rawal Jaisal, the city’s founder. Built out of yellow sandstone amidst the golden sands of the Thar. There are must-visit Jain Temples inside, dedicated to Jain hermits, the Tirthankaras. Next visit the Patwaon-Ki-Haveli. Its colourful interiors would leave you impressed. Unwind yourself at the Gadsisar Sagar Lake. It’s a beautiful rainwater lake, surrounded by small temples. You would be moving to Khuri village, in the afternoon. This would be the highlight of your Rajasthan tour. Have a camel ride at sunset to fully experience life in desert. In the evening, local musicians would treat you to a melodic performance. In the night, sleep under the star-studded sky, in a desert camp!

Day 6: Jaisalmer (Khuri) -Pokhran-Jodhpur

After breakfast in the desert camp, proceed to Jodhpur, the second largest city of Rajasthan. On your way, visit the 14th century Pokhran Fort. Imagine the extraordinary strength of the former Maharaja, whose 35 kg sword is on display! Check into the hotel upon reaching the “Gateway of Thar”, Jodhpur. Freshen-up and leave for a guided tour of the city, starting with Mandore Gardens. The gardens house cenotaphs of many Jodhpur rulers. Move to the Umaid Bhawan Palace next. With 347 rooms, it is one of the largest private residences in the world! Continue visit one of the largest forts in India, the Mehrangarh Fort. Next, visit Jaswant Thada, the memorial to Maharaja Jaswant Singh II, intricately carved sheets of marble. You could visit the spice market and be amazed at the variety of spices used in Indian cooking! Sardar Market is a great bazar for picking up souvenirs colourful bangles, saris etc. Return to the hotel and stay overnight.

Day 7: Jodhpur-Pushkar

Proceed to Pushkar post breakfast. It is one of the four sacred dhams for Hindus. Visit the colourful Brahma’s Temple, dedicated to the God of creation. The temple is close to Pushkar Lake, that you would be visiting towards sunset. Legend has that the lake emerged where petals of a lotus, used by Brahma to slay a demon, fell on the ground. Shop at the local bazar. If you are visiting the city in October/ November, you would be witness the world’s largest camel fair. Visit the Pushkar Lake at sunset, its ghats, and few of the over 500 temples surrounding it! Relish the picturesque sunset view. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 8: Pushkar-Ajmer-Jaipur

Leave for Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, in the morning after breakfast. Stop by Ajmer, the city that has Dargah Sharif, Sufi Saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti’s shrine. Check into the hotel upon Jaipur arrival. Walk through the local markets and admire the architecture of the “Pink City”. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 9: Jaipur

Post breakfast, visit the popular tourist attraction, the Amer/ Amber Fort, constructed in the year 1592, by the Rajput king, Raja Man Singh I. (1550 – 1614) Have an elephant ride there. After lunch, go to Hawa Mahal, the breezy honeycomb-like palace, with 953 windows, resembling Krishna’s crown, the Hindu God. Also visit the Jantar Mantar, the astronomical observatory built by Sawai Jai Singh, the Rajput King. Then, go to the City Palace Museum, dedicated to Raja Sawai Man Singh II. Walk through the Pink City and be fascinated by the traditional dressing style of the locals. In the night, have an authentic Rajasthani thali meal with unlimited servings! Return to the hotel and stay overnight.

Day 10: Jaipur-Fatehpur Sikri-Agra

Leave for Agra, the “Taj City” after a delightful breakfast.Go via Fatehpur Sikri, the city that was founded by Akbar in 1569 to honour Salim Chishti, the Sufi Saint. Check into the hotel upon arrival in Agra. Spend rest of your day leisurely.

Day 11: Agra-Delhi

Leave for a sightseeing tour after breakfast. Start with India’s most-visited monument the Taj Mahal! It was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, in the memory of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died while giving birth to their daughter, Gauharara Begum. Visit the red, glorious Agra Fort next. It served as Akbar’s capital, and of successive Mughal emperors Jahangir, Shah Jahan and Aurangzeb. Finally, move to the Tomb of Itim─üd-ud-Daulah, sometimes referred to as “Baby Taj”, since it is thought to have inspired the Taj Mahal. Leave for Delhi. Upon arrival in Delhi, reach the airport and board the flight back home/ resume your remaining journey with memories of our Heritage tour that would last a lifetime!
