Day 1: Delhi

Be received by our representative at the Delhi Airport, upon arrival. Then, be driven to your hotel. Go for a guided tour of the city post breakfast. Visit the Red Fort. It was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan (1592-1666) between 1638 and 1648. Also see Jama Masjid, one of India’s largest mosques, opposite the “Lal Qila”. (Another name for the Red Fort.) Then, go to Qutub Minar, the second-tallest minar in India, the construction of which was started by Qutbu I-Din Aibak, the Turkic King. The park around Raj Ghat, the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of The Nation, would give an immense sense of peace. So would the park around India Gate, the war memorial to 82,000 soldiers! The Mughal Gardens at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, featuring a large variety of colourful flowers would leave you mesmerised. Also visit the Lotus Temple, the Baha’i House of Worship, that has won numerous architectural awards. Finally, visit Birla Mandir. Enjoy folk and tribal dance performances at the Parsi Anjuman hall.

Day 2: Delhi-Shimla

Have breakfast and leave for Shimla. On your way, visit the 17th century-Pinjore Gardens. They were created by the foster brother of Aurangzeb, the Mughal Emperor. Upon arrival at Shimla, check into the hotel and spend some time unwinding and relaxing. In the evening, explore the Mall Road and visit the 1844-constructed Christ Church on the ridge. Be mystified by old British buildings. Return to the hotel and stay overnight.

Day 3: Shimla

After a delicious breakfast, proceed for a full day of sightseeing. Visit Chail, the summer retreat of the Maharaja of Patiala. The palace has been converted to a hotel now. Then, move to Kufri, a small hill station, but the highest point of the region. You would be taken to Jakhoo Temple, the ancient temple that has the world’s largest statue of Lord Hanuman! Enjoy a walk on the Mall Road. Have dinner and spend the remaining evening leisurely. Stay overnight.

Day 4: Shimla-Manali

Have breakfast and leave for Manali. On your way, visit Mandi, the city that has over 300 temples! Check into the hotel once you reach Manali, and after freshening-up, explore the market/ mall road. Return to the hotel and spend the night.

Day 5: Manali

After breakfast, go for a full-day sightseeing tour. Visit Rohtang Pass, Snow Point, it’s no less than a paradise! Move to Solang Nala (Also spelled as Solang Nullah), the side valley comprising of giant green slopes. Give your day a spiritual dimension by visiting the Hadimba Devi Temple. The wooden temple, four-storey tall, is located in a forested area. Also go to the Vashisht Hot Springs, named after one of the seven great rishis in Hinduism. The sulphuric water is considered to have medicinal properties and aid in treating skin problems. The sightseeing tour would be incomplete without a trip to the Club House, an entertainment zone that is a must visit for families. Return to the hotel and spend the remaining day leisurely.

Day 6: Manali-Kullu-Manikaran

Leave for Manikaran post breakfast. On your way, visit Kullu, the lush green valley known for its pine and deodar cedar forests. Trek a distance of 3 kilometres, upto to the Bijli Mahadev Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Resume your journey to Manikaran, known for its hot sulphuric springs. It is a place of religious importance for the Hindus and Sikhs. Spend your evening leisurely and stay overnight in the hotel.

Day 7: Manikaran-McLeod Ganj

Have breakfast and leave for McLeod Ganj, a suburb of Dharamsala, known for its large Tibetan population. Check into the hotel upon arrival. Explore the markets, the city is known for its Tibetan carpets, handicrafts and thangkas. (Paintings) Have a Tibetan dinner in the night. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 8: McLeod Ganj

Have a delicious breakfast in the morning, and leave for a full day of sightseeing. The Tibetan government-in-exile is headquartered here. It is also the residence of the 14th Dalai Lama. Visit the Bhagsunath Temple, believed to have been built by King Bhagsu, having lost a duel to Nag, the Lord of the snakes. Visit Tibetan monasteries, including the Tsuglagkhang complex, a pilgrimage site for Tibetan exiles and the Dalai Lama’s residence. Also visit St. John in the Wilderness, the 1852-built old church, known for its stained-glass-windows. Return to the hotel and stay overnight.

Day 9: McLeod Ganj-Amritsar

Be driven to Amritsar after breakfast.Check into the hotel upon arrival,and then proceed to the Golden Temple. It is the central religious place of the Sikhs, but welcomes visitors irrespective of their religious beliefs. You would also be taken to the Jallianwala Bagh, the garden that houses a memorial to commemorate the sacrifice of approximately 1000 martyrs men, women and children, in the massacre of the same name. Also visit Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum. It was the summer palace of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, Founder of the Sikh empire. After visiting more places of interest, witness the beating retreat ceremony at the Wagah Border. Return to the hotel after an eventful day, and stay overnight.

Day 10: Amritsar-Chandigarh

After a tasty start to the day, be driven to Chandigarh. Check into the hotel upon arrival. After freshening up, go for a sightseeing tour of the city. Visit the awe-inspiring Rock Garden, where sculpture is made of industrial and home waste, such as broken bangles, electrical fittings, broken chinaware and so on! Next, go to one of the most popular attractions of the city ÔÇô the Sukhna Lake. The lake is popular with nature lovers, tourists who enjoy boating, families that want to go for a refreshing stroll and so on. Also visit Zakir Hussain Rose Garden, that has 50,000 rose bushes of 1600 different species! See the government buildings. Have a nice leisure time in the evening. Return to the hotel and spend the night.

Day 11: Chandigarh-Delhi

Post an energetic start by having breakfast, leave for Delhi. You would be dropped to the airport/ railway station/ your hotel.
