Day 1: Delhi-Haridwar

Arrive in Delhi and leave for Hardwar via road or rail, as per your preference. This ancient city in the state of Uttarakhand is one of the seven holiest places for Hindus. The journey of 210 kilometres is expected to take five to six hours by road. Check into the hotel upon arrival. Your evening would be free to visit Har Ki Pauri, a famous ghat that is said to have been visited by Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu in the Vedic times. Have dinner and stay at the hotel overnight.

Day 2: Haridwar-Barkot

Leave for Barkot early in the morning. You would be covering 230 kilometres today, and the distance is expected to take seven to eight hours. Have a nice lunch in Mussoorie, a hill station nicknamed the “Queen of Hills”. Visit the famous Kempty Falls and reach Barkot by the evening. Check into the hotel or the camp located on the Yamunotri Road. Have your dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: Barkot-Yamunotri-Barkot

You have an early morning start once again. After breakfast, proceed to Hanuman Chatti. It’s a serene place located amidst incomparable beauty. It is going to be a 32 kilometre drive. Next, take a local jeep to reach Phool Chatti. Finally, reach the Yamunotri Temple, dedicated to Goddess Yamuna. There is a holy thermal spring with water so hot that it is can be used for cooking rice and potatoes! Return to Phool Chatti in the evening. You would be having your dinner at the camp/ resort there. Stay overnight.

Day 4: Barkot-Uttarkashi-Harsil

Have a relaxed breakfast and leave for Harsil, a quaint village located on the banks of Bhagirathi river. The drive of 152 kilometres is going to take six to seven hours approximately. Stop at Uttarkashi on your way for lunch. Visit Rishikund, the holy hot water spring for dip. Resume your journey to Harsil. Your camp/ hotel would be set amidst a gorgeous apple orchard in Dharali village, which is just 2 kilometres away from Harsil. Check-in, have your dinner and stay overnight.

Day 5: Harsil-Gangotri-Harsil

Leave for Gangotri, one of the Char Dhams of Uttarakhand, post breakfast. It is 22 kilometres away. Take a holy dip in Bhagirathi, the source of Ganges. The temple here is the most important temple of Maa Ganga in the entire country. After pooja, relax in the peaceful surroundings. Return to the camp/ hotel in the afternoon and relish the picturesque view of the valley. Have a delicious dinner and stay overnight.

Day 6: Harsil-Guptkashi

Leave for Guptkashi, a large town situated on the way to Kedarnath, after a very early breakfast. This would be the longest journey of the trip, stretching over 280 kilometres, and taking nine to ten hours approximately. You would be having a rather late lunch on your way. Resume your journey to Guptkashi, and see Mandakini river, mentioned in the Bhagvat Purana. You would be reaching Guptkashi by late evening. Check into the camp/ hotel upon arrival. Have a nice dinner and stay overnight.

Day 7: Guptkashi-Kedarnath

Have breakfast in the morning, pick-up your packed lunch and leave for Gauri Kund. Gauri is another name for Goddess Parvati, the wife of Lord Shiva. Local legend claims that Shiva admitted His love for Parvati here. The journey is 32 kilometre-long. You would be trekking a distance of 14 kilometres next. Have lunch on your way. You would be reaching Kedarnath by late afternoon. Check into Bikaner House or a similar hotel upon arrival. Leave for Darshan of Kedarnath Mandir after freshening up. This temple was built by the Pandavas, who were told by Lord Shiva that he would remain there as a JyotirLinga. Visit the Shankaracharya Samadhi in the evening, Adi Shankara had revived the Kedarnath Temple. Have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 8: Kedarnath-Guptkashi

Return to Gauri Kund after breakfast. Next, leave for Guptkashi by road in order to read the camp/ hotel by the evening. Have your dinner and stay overnight.

Day 9: Guptkashi-Badrinath

Leave for Badrinath after breakfast. It is the most important of the Char Dhams. The journey is 235 kilometres-long and is expected to take six to seven hours. You would be going via Chopta and Jyotirmath, both provide scenic views of the Himalayas. Have your lunch at Pipalkoti, a breathtakingly beautiful town. Check into the camp/ hotel at Badrinath upon arrival. Your evening would be free. Relax. Have your dinner and stay overnight.

Day 10: Badrinath-Pipalkoti

Go for Darshan of Badrinath Temple after breakfast. Lord Vishnu, who is worshipped as the Protector is said to have sat here in meditation as per one of the legends. You would be taken to Mana, known as the “Last Indian Village”. Tibet/ China border lies a mere 24 kilometres further. Return to the camp/ hotel after a great day and stay overnight.

Day 11: Pipalkoti-Haridwar

Leave for Haridwar after breakfast, covering 250 kilometres in around nine to ten hours. Have your lunch on the way. Visit Devprayag, if time permits. It is the place where the rivers Alaknanda and Bhagirathi meet, and take the name Ganga. You would be reaching Haridwar by the evening. Check into the hotel.

Day 12: Haridwar-Delhi

Leave for Delhi post breakfast. Your trip ends upon arrival in the city.
