Day 1: Delhi

Welcome by our representative at the Delhi Airport upon arrival. Move to the hotel and check-in. Then, Go for a guided tour of the city. Visit the Red Fort. This massive red sandstone fort was the residence of Mughal emperors. Move to the Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in India. It was constructed by Shah Jahan. Then, go to Qutb Minar, the second-tallest minar in India. Raj Ghat, the memorial to Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of The Nation. A black marble platform marks the spot of his cremation. The Mughal Gardens at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, incorporating Mughal and English styles of landscaping would leave you mesmerised. Also visit the Lotus Temple, the Baha’i House of Worship. Finally, visit the Laxminarayan Temple. stay over night at hotel

Day 2: Delhi-Mandawa

Leave for Mandawa, a small town in Rajasthan, known for its 18th century fort. Visit the Mandawa Fort, built as per a medieval theme by Nawal Singh, the first direct descendant of the Shekhawati rulers. Check into the hotel. Our guide would take you to Shekhawati, the historical region known for its colourful havelis from the 18th & 19th centuries. Having the largest concentration of frescos in the entire world. You can go buy handicrafts as souvenirs from the bazar. Return to the hotel and stay overnight.

Day 3: Mandawa-Bikaner

Having witnessed the beauty of Mandawa, proceed to Bikaner. Visit the Karni Mata Temple, dedicated to Karni Mata, the incarnation of Goddess Durga. The temple is home to approximately 20,000 rats that are revered. Move to the National Research Centre on Camel, the largest camel farm in Asia! Take a trip back in history by visiting the massive 20th century Junagarh Fort. Also visit the Lalgarh Palace and Museum. The palace has been built as per Rajput, Mughal and European styles of architecture. It was built by Sir Ganga Singh, the Maharaja of Bikaner. The museum contains several articles of the royal family. Your evening would be free for shopping. You can shop at the King Edward Memorial (KEM) Road. Local sweets and snacks are worth a try! Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 4: Bikaner-Khichan-Jaisalmer

Leave for Jaisalmer, “The Golden City” in the morning. This city, located in the heart of the Thar (Think about sand dunes and camels!), has several historic & artistic monuments. On your way, visit Khichan. This village has achieved international recognition for hosting over 20,000 cranes from August to March every year! Check into the hotel upon reaching Jaisalmer. Finally, witness a beautiful sunset at Bada Bagh, a garden complex so picturesque that it has been featured in several Bollywood movies! Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 5: Jaisalmer

Post a relaxed breakfast in the morning, leave for a full-day of sightseeing. Start with the Jaisalmer Fort, which was constructed in 1156 AD by Rawal Jaisal, the city’s founder. Built out of yellow sandstone amidst the golden sands of the Thar, it’s also called “Sonar Quila” meaning the golden fort. There are must-visit Jain Temples inside, dedicated to Jain hermits, the Tirthankaras. Next visit the Patwaon-Ki-Haveli. It is the first haveli erected in the Golden City. Its colourful interiors would leave you impressed. Unwind yourself at the Gadsisar Sagar Lake. It’s a beautiful rainwater lake, surrounded by small temples. You would be moving to Khuri, the village, in the afternoon. This would be the highlight of your Rajasthan tour. Have a camel ride at sunset to fully experience life in desert. In the evening, local musicians would treat you to a melodic performance. In the night, sleep under the star-studded sky, in a desert camp!

Day 6: Jaisalmer (Khuri) -Pokhran-Jodhpur

After breakfast in the desert camp, proceed to Jodhpur, the second largest city of Rajasthan. On your way, visit the 14th century Pokhran Fort. Imagine the extraordinary strength of the former Maharaja, whose 35 kg sword is on display! Check into the hotel upon reaching Jodhpur. Freshen-up and leave for a guided tour of the city, starting with Mandore Gardens. The gardens house cenotaphs of many Jodhpur rulers. The cenotaphs have been constructed along the lines of a Hindu temple, which is far from usual. Move to the Umaid Bhawan Palace next. With 347 rooms, it is one of the largest private residences in the world! Continue to enchant yourself with Jodhpur’s glorious past as you visit one of the largest forts in India, the Mehrangarh Fort. Next, visit Jaswant Thada, the memorial to Maharaja Jaswant Singh II, built out of extremely thin, intricately carved sheets of marble. Spend your evening leisurely. You could visit the spice market and be amazed at the variety of spices used in Indian cooking! Sardar Market is a great bazar for picking up souvenirs colourful bangles, saris with elaborate tie-and-dye work and vibrant jutis. Return to the hotel and stay overnight.

Day 7: Jodhpur-Ranakpur

Post a tasty start to the day, proceed to Ranakpur, a village known for its 15th century marble Jain Temple. On your way, stop by to be fascinated by Bishnoi village culture. Bishnoi is a Hindu sect, that was founded by Guru Jambheshwar in 1485. The Bishnois are founded in the Thar Desert of Rajasthan and are known for their love for the environment. Check into the hotel upon reaching Ranakpur. Proceed to visit the Chaumukha Temple, dedicated to Adinatha, the first Tirthankara. The details in the carving would leave you speechless! After that, move to the Surya Narayan Temple, a 13th century Sun Temple, where the idol of Surya is seen riding his chariot. After more sightseeing, you would be taken to enjoy the sunset view at a lake. Spend the night at the hotel.

Day 8: Ranakpur-Kumbhalgarh-Udaipur

Have your breakfast in the morning and stop over at Kumbhalgarh Fort on your way to Udaipur. It has the second largest wall in the world, the first being the Great Wall of China. It is known to be the birthplace of the brave Maharana Pratap, the brave ruler of Mewar. Check into the hotel upon arrival at Udaipur, the “Venice of the East”. Then, proceed to the 18th century Bagore-ki-Haveli, a palace with 138 rooms! Enjoy a puppet show theater, native to Rajasthan. They tell stories and are very entertaining! Also watch a traditional dance performance, soaking yourself in the music and melody of Rajasthan. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 9: Udaipur

After a delicious breakfast, leave for a full day of sightseeing in Udaipur. Visit the City Palace, a palace complex that was built over a period of 400 years! The museum displays portraits of rulers & paintings, interesting miniatures, and so on. Discover your spiritual side by paying a visit to the 1651-constructed Jagdish Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, depicted as Jagannath, the Lord of the Universe. Move to the beautiful garden of Saheliyon-ki-Bari, famous for its marble elephants, beautiful lotus pools and fountains. Also go to the Monsoon Palace, also called Sajjangarh, named so after Maharana Sajjan Singh. It is a hilltop palatial residence constructed of white marble. Treat the shopaholic in you by visiting Bapu Bazzar known for beautiful garments, colourful bangles, silver jewellery, streetfood and so on. As sunset approaches, go for a cruise in Lake Pichola. Jag Mandir Palace, situated in the lake, has an impressive architecture and provides a great view of the lake. Spend the night at the hotel.

Day 10: Udaipur-Chittorgarh-Pushkar

Proceed to Pushkar, one of the four sacred dhams for Hindus, post breakfast. On your way, stop by the Chittorgarh Fort, the largest fort in India, area-wise! It was established in 734 AD by Bappa Rawal, a Sisodia ruler. Check into the hotel upon arrival in Pushkar. Then, visit the colourful BrahmaÔÇÖs Temple, dedicated to the God of creation. The temple is close to Pushkar Lake. Legend has that the lake emerged where petals of a lotus, used by Brahma to slay a demon, fell upon the ground. Shop at the local markets. If you happen to be visiting the city in October or November, you would be lucky to attend the annual Camel Fair. Visit the Pushkar Lake towards sunset, its numerous ghats, and few of the over 500 temples surrounding it! Relish the sunset view, return to the hotel and stay overnight.

Day 11: Pushkar-Ajmer-Jaipur

Leave for Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, in the morning after breakfast. Stop by Ajmer, the city that has Dargah Sharif, Sufi Saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti’s shrine. Check into the hotel upon Jaipur arrival. Walk through the local markets and admire the architecture of the “Pink City”. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 12: Jaipur

Post breakfast, visit the popular tourist attraction, the Amer/ Amber Fort, constructed in the year 1592, by the Rajput king, Raja Man Singh I. (1550 – 1614) Have an elephant ride there. After lunch, go to Hawa Mahal, the breezy honeycomb-like palace, with 953 windows, resembling Krishna’s crown, the Hindu God. Also visit the Jantar Mantar, the astronomical observatory built by Sawai Jai Singh, the Rajput King. Then, go to the City Palace Museum, dedicated to Raja Sawai Man Singh II. Walk through the Pink City and be fascinated by the traditional dressing style of the locals. In the night, have an authentic Rajasthani thali meal with unlimited servings! Return to the hotel and stay overnight.

Day 13: Jaipur-Ranthambore National Park

Leave for Ranthambore National Park and enjoy a jungle safari there. You can also have a safari in the evening.

Day 14: Ranthambore National Park-Bharatpur-Fatehpur Sikri-Agra

Start for Keoladeo National Park in the morning, inhabited by over 380 species of birds. Then, proceed to Fatehpur Sikri, the city that was founded by Akbar, the Mughal Emperor. It was abandoned soon after its completion due to the scarcity of water. Move to Agra, and check into the hotel. Have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 15: Agra-Delhi

Visit one of the seven wonders of the world, the Taj Mahal, early in the morning! (6 AM) It was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, in the memory of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died while giving birth to their daughter, Gauharara Begum. It is a marvellous white marble-mausoleum, decorated with multicoloured flowers & vines (of gemstones) and topped with a 15-foot high bronze finial. You would be taken for a delicious breakfast after the Taj visit. Still mesmerised, you would be taken to the massive red sandstone Agra Fort. It was constructed by the Mughal Emperor, Akbar. Return to the hotel and check-out. Leave for Delhi. Visit Tomb Of Akbar The Great (Sikandra) on your way. Resume your journey for Delhi via Mathura, the birthplace of Lord Krishna, the Hindu God. Be dropped at the airport/ hotel, in order to resume the remainder of your journey/ return home, with memories of this unforgettable tour!
