Day 1: Delhi

Welcome by our representative at the Indira Gandhi International Airport upon arrival. Move to the hotel and check-in. You would be served a non-alcoholic welcome drink and provided information on this Rajasthan Wildlife tour. Go for a sightseeing tour of the city post a lavish breakfast in the morning. Start with Shahjahanabad,  Old Delhi. Visit the Red Fort. This massive red sandstone fort was the residence of Mughal emperors, for almost 200 years. Experience the sights, sounds and tastes of real India as you stroll through the busy lanes of Chandni Chowk. Move to the Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in India. It was constructed by Shah Jahan. During the second leg of the sightseeing tour (Post lunch), drive past the Rashtrapati Bhavan, the official residence of the President of India. Also see the India Gate, a 42 metre-high archway which is a memorial to 82,000 martyred soldiers of the British Indian Army. Drive to Qutb Minar, the second tallest minar in India. Also see one of the most popular temples in Delhi, the Laxminarayan Temple. Also known as “Birla Mandir”, it is visited by several thousands of devotees during the festivals of Diwali and Janmashtami. Spend your evening leisurely. You can go shopping at Connaught Place if you like.

Day 2: Delhi-Sariska Tiger Reserve

Leave for Sariska Tiger Reserve, a national park and wildlife sanctuary which is home to several wildlife species, such as the Bengal tiger, Indian leopard, Indian striped hyena and common jackal. It is also a paradise for bird-watchers. Some of the bird species found here are the crested serpent eagle, Indian eagle-owl, black-rumped flameback and chestnut-bellied sandgrouse. You can sight a tiger if you opt for the jeep safari. You would be staying at Sariska wildlife resort.

Day 3: Sariska Tiger Reserve-Jaipur

Leave for Jaipur early in the morning post breakfast. Check into the hotel upon arrival and leave for Amber Fort after lunch. (Also pronounced and written as “Amer Fort”.) It was constructed in the year 1592, by the Rajput king, Raja Man Singh I. Have an elephant ride from the foothills of the fort to its gate. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 4: Jaipur

Proceed for a sightseeing tour of the “Pink City”, Jaipur. Start with the City Palace Museum, dedicated to Raja Sawai Man Singh II. Move to Hawa Mahal, the breezy honeycomb-like palace, with 953 windows, resembling Krishna’s crown, the Hindu God. Also visit the Jantar Mantar, the astronomical observatory built by Sawai Jai Singh, the Rajput King. You can go shopping in the afternoon. Jaipur is famous for jewellery and textiles with tie-and-dye & block printing work. Have an authentic Rajasthani thali meal comprising of a great variety of dishes and unlimited servings at Chokhi Dhani, a mock village.

Day 5: Jaipur-Ranthambore National Park

After breakfast at the hotel, set out for Ranthambore National Park. It was the former hunting ground of the rulers of Jaipur. The park is home to several animal, bird and reptile species, notably, the Bengal tiger, common sloth bear, mugger crocodile and Indian spotted deer. You would be staying in Sawai Madhopur. Take a jeep safari for tiger-spotting. It has 22 tigers as of today.

Day 6: Ranthambore National Park

Have another tiger safari today and spend the remainder of the day leisurely.

Day 7: Ranthambore National Park-Keoladeo National Park (Bharatpur)

Leave for Keoladeo National Park in the morning. It is home to over 380 bird species, including the critically endangered Siberian crane.

Day 8: Bharatpur-Fatehpur Sikri-Agra

Leave for Agra, the “Taj City” after a delightful breakfast.Go via Fatehpur Sikri, the city that was founded by Akbar in 1569 to honour Salim Chishti, the Sufi Saint. Check into the hotel upon arrival in Agra. Stay overnight.

Day 9: Agra-Delhi

Your morning would start with a stunning visit to one of the seven wonders of the world the Taj Mahal! It was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, in the memory of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died while giving birth to their daughter, Gauharara Begum. It is a marvellous white marble-mausoleum, decorated with multicoloured flowers & vines (of gemstones) and topped with a 15-foot high bronze finial. Still mesmerised, you would be taken to the massive red sandstone Agra Fort. It was constructed by the Mughal Emperor, Akbar. Have a delicious lunch and leave for the Tomb of Itimd-ud-Daulah. Sometimes referred to as “Baby Taj”, it is thought to have inspired the Taj Mahal. Leave for Delhi via Mathura, the birthplace of Lord Krishna, the Hindu God. Be dropped at the airport/ hotel, in order to resume the remainder of your journey/ return home, with memories of this unforgettable tour!
